On August 26, 2024, PT Bintai Kindenko Engineering Indonesia (BINKEI) held the BINKEI Mengajar program at SMKN 26 Jakarta. This program aimed to share knowledge and experience about Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) in the construction industry with the students. The session was led by Maulana Arya Dinata, Section Head of SHESSR at BINKEI, as the main speaker. He presented a lecture titled “Basic SHE for Business Construction”, which covered the fundamentals of occupational safety in the construction industry, how to prevent workplace accidents, and the importance of establishing a safety culture at work.
A total of 413 students from SMKN 26 Jakarta attended the event with enthusiasm. They gained valuable insights into how the construction industry applies safety standards to ensure that work is conducted safely and efficiently. Additionally, the students learned how to identify potential hazards and take appropriate preventive measures to avoid the risks of accidents.
To make the material more accessible, the session was delivered in an interactive format. The speaker not only provided theoretical knowledge but also encouraged the students to engage in discussions and participate in case studies that are commonly encountered in the construction industry. Several students were also given the opportunity to ask questions directly about the challenges they might face when entering the workforce.
In addition to the material presentation, the event also included a simple simulation on workplace safety procedures. The simulation aimed to give the students a real-life understanding of how to handle emergency situations and the importance of using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly. The event concluded with a symbolic donation handover to support the operational activities of SMKN 26 Jakarta.
